Ian and I met in 2018 in Vancouver at the Blarney Stone Pub. After talking for 20 minutes and an instant connection, we exchanged numbers and went our separate ways. The next morning, I got a message from Ian and we talked for the rest of the day. We then planned our first date, where our connection only grew stronger.
After dating for a few weeks, Ian left for Ireland not knowing if we would see each other again. Ian eventually returned to Canada through work, however, the wrong part — Winnipeg, 2,300 KM away. After some time passed not knowing if he would come back, ultimately I decided I would move to Co. Down, Ireland to live with my Grandma. Something I planned to do for years. A few months later I was in Ireland and Ian was sent back to Vancouver!

Not knowing where all this would lead us, we carried on talking through video calls and text. Ten months passed before we saw each other again in Galway for New Year’s, where we decided to make our relationship official. We planned visits starting with a ski trip to France in March 2020; the trip ended March 17th with the Covid pandemic shutting the world down on the 18th.
This forced us into another 9-month long-distance relationship. Eventually, Ian came home for a visit and drove 7 hours to Belfast to see me. With the pandemic into its second lockdown, we decided I would move home to Canada once the restrictions allowed and I could make sure my Grandma was taken care of.
In August 2021 we moved in together in Downtown Vancouver. Over the next four years, we made many friends, created memories, and went on as many adventures as we could. However, last year we made the move back to Ireland for good and a few months later Ian popped the question, officially embarking on our biggest adventure yet.
Join us for the weekend of 06 . JUNE . 2026, as we celebrate our union and embark on this new stage of our lives together. We hope to see you there.
